JOIN BATTLE OF THE BOOKS!
HERE IS HOW BATTLE WORKS…
This event is open to all LMS students. It is a team event with each team consisting of up to four members. Your team must read the 12 selected titles listed below. All of the books can be found in the LMS library, county libraries, using the Libby app, or they can be purchased. Practices will be virtual and held after winter break. The team with the highest point total at the end of the LMS Building Battle will move to the MULTI-SCHOOL DISTRICT BATT
- Permission slips will be sent home during the first week after Winter Break.
- Battle of the Books practices begin when we return in January.
- Practices will be during student's lunches, the only time during the school year that students may eat their lunches in the library.
- Teams of four will be formed as the practices go on.
- Liberty's building Battle of the Books will take place on March 15 at 10:25 in the LMS library.
- The winning team will represent Liberty at the district competition on Wednesday, March 20, 7pm, at Bethel Middle School.
Rainbow Library collection
We are excited to announce that the YA books donated to our library through the GLSEN Rainbow Library grant are available for checkout! Click HERE (Links to an external site.) to read summaries in Destiny Discover and come by the library to check them out. The Collection List also include other books we have in our LMS library that bring awareness of the LGBTQ community, as well as informative links on the subject.
